Bennett was a demonstrator of anatomy at Chatham St School of Medicine, Manchester. He had a surgical practice in Oldham Street, Manchester and was a Certified Factory Surgeon. Bennett was a member of Manchester Medical Society and had been Vice-President of Paris Medical Society.
