George Crawshaw was born at Ramsbottom in 1886, probably a son of Benjamin Crawshaw, and graduated in medicine from the University of Manchester in 1908. he was a house surgeon at MRI, before joining his father and brothers in the family practice at Tottington, near Bury, where he remained until retirement in 1950.
