Coady was house officer to the neurosurgical unit at MRI and held appointments at Newcastle-upon-Tyne, Taplow, Hammersmith, Preston Hall Hospital and Chase Farm Hospital before being appointed senior medical registrar at the Royal Northern Hospital in 1955. Coady spent many years in the middle east working for various oil companies before being appointed medical director of the MRC laboratories and hospital at Fajara in the Gambia. Coady died on 4 October 1975.
