MB ChB Manch 1906.

Fort, the son of Thomas Fort of Oldham, studied at Owens College Manchester. After qualifying, he was house surgeon and casualty surgeon at MRI before serving as captain in the RAMC. Fort returned to Oldham where he was honorary pathologist at Oldham Royal Infirmary, later being appointed assistant surgeon. Fort, like his father, was surgeon to Bolton police, he held the position from 1921 until shortly before his death. He was also medical officer to the post office and certifying factory surgeon. He was a member of Oldham Medical Society and BMA. Fort died in his 56th year on 31 July 1936.
