Cooper studied at St Bartholomew's Hospital and Owens College Manchester. Cooper was house surgeon at MRI and assistant demonstrator in zoology and pathology at Owens College before taking up general practice in Altrincham, where he was very successful. In 1923 Cooper was appointed honorary surgeon at Altrincham Hospital, and he was also medical referee for the pensions ministry. Percy Cooper was a fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine and a member of Manchester Medical Society and Manchester Clinical and Pathological Societies. Cooper died on 10 October 1925 after blood poisoning.
