MB ChB Manch 1947.

Cartledge, the daughter of Dr Allan Barrett, was born on 10 February 1923. She was educated at Withington Girl's School and at the University of Manchester. After qualifying, Cartledge was house surgeon at Royal Manchester Children's Hospital, and medical officer at Prestwich Mental Hospital and for Child Welfare in Stockport. In 1946 she married Donald Henry Cartledge. From 1955, she was medical officer for Withington Girls School. Cartledge was a fellow of Manchester Medical Society . After she retired, Cartledge was a lecturer and examiner for the British Red Cross. She died on 3 May 2000.
