MB ChB Edin 1905, FRCS 1920.

After qualifying in 1905, Chisholm undertook general practice in South Wales, where he became interested in obstetrics. He was appointed gynaecological house surgeon at MRI and in 1912 was resident obstetrical officer at St Mary's Hospital Manchester. After serving in France during the war, Chisholm took up an appointment in Sheffield as registrar of the Jessop Hospital. He continued to serve at this hospital, and at the University of Sheffield where he was appointed professor of obstetrics and gynaecology, until 1950. Chisholm died on 12 June 1951.
