Patrick Fulton was the son of Frederick Fulton, a GP in Oldham who qualified in 1898. Patrick Fulton was born in Oldham on 5 April 1927 and was educated at Manchester Grammar School and the University of Manchester. After qualifying he was house physician and paediatric house physician at the Lake Hospital, Ashton-under-Lyne. From 1953 until 1955 Fulton served in the RAMC. He was later a general practitioner in Leigh, Lancashire. Fulton was a member of Manchester Medical Society , the North of England Obstetric and Gynaecological Society and the Wigan and Leigh Postgraduate Medical Society.
