Scope and Content

This volume contains a free translation from the Persian of Jāmī's poem of the same title, compiled by Kemalpaşazade. This poem is one of the author's early compositions, for it was written before 918 AH (1512-13 CE), as shown by the panegyric on Bayezit II as reigning Sultan in the prologue (f 17v). It is considered by Kınalizade as the best of the author's poetical works. According to a verse of Kemalpaşazade's, quoted by Haj. Khal., it consists of 7777 ebyat. This manuscript was likely copied in the 16th century CE.
