Scope and Content

This volume contains the collected poetry of Nazim, the mahlas of a poet named Yahya who died in 1139 AH (1726-27 CE). It appears that there is confusion between various poets with the same mahlas, as Nazim was also used by a Mustafa İbn-i İsmail. The Divan is divided into six portions :. ff 1v-15v : A münacat followed by other poems;. ff 15v-46v : Miscellaneous poems beginning with a mesnevi, followed by a mi'raciye (f 22r), kasideler and a muhammas (f 33v), kıt'alar (f 43r) and müfredat (f 45v);. ff 47v-68v : Gazeller and na't;. ff 69r-77r : Further kıt'alar;. ff 78v-115v : More münacat and na't;. ff 116v-123r : Tercibendler, ending with a müstezad;. ff 123v-127r : A final section beginning with a poem on the first four Caliphs. The text contains six unvans. The manuscripts was likely copied in the 18th century CE, with the date 1183 AH (1769-70 CE) inserted on the last folio.
