Scope and Content

This volume contains an Ottoman Turkish translation of the Risālat al-Fiqarāt (رسالة الفقرات), a Sufi work by Khvājah Ahrār (Nāṣir al-Dīn ᶜubaydallāh bin Maḥmūd Shāshī. The name of the translator, Mustafa İbnü'l-Hüseyin el-Safi, İmam to Sultan Ahmet I (1603-17 CE), appears on the final folio. He states that he translated the work in memory of his Pir, el-Taşkendi, who belonged to the Nakşibendi order. . The work is dedicated to Ahmet I, for whom this particular manuscript was copied, according to one of the medallions on f 2r. . The text contains a single unvan. . This manuscript is undated but was copied in the early 17th century CE. .
