Each of these two texts originally formed part or the whole of a separate volume. They are written on papers with different characteristics. 1. 1v-62v. Hayr-ābād. The well-known didactic narrative poem in Ottoman Turkish by Yūsuf Nābī (d. 1124/1712), based on a story in 'Attar's Persian Ilāhī-nāma. Colophon, f. 62v. Dated 1117/1705-6. 2. 63v-98r. Salāmān va Absāl. The renowned allegorical masnavī poem in Persian by 'Abd al-Raḥmān Jāmī (d. 898/1492). Colophon, f. 98r. Dated 990/1582-3. Copied by 'Umar ibn 'Alī 'in the fortress of Belgrade'. Illuminated heading, f. 63v, in navy, green and white, highly distinctive in form.
