Scope and Content

This volume contains the collected poetry of Eşref İbn-i Rumi or Eşrefoğlu (died either 874 AH/1469-70 CE according to YDK I, pp. 23-24 and OM; or 899 AH/1493-94 CE according to SO). Of these possible death dates, the former is more likely given the existence of a chronogram in line with the earlier date. The first few folios of the volume are missing along with the original title, which has been added in red as Min kelimat-i Eşref İbn-i Rumi on the first folio. The latter appears as the title in the copy held in the Vatican Library. The Divan begins with gazeller (1v-37r), followed by rubaiyat (ff 37r-43r). Next are some poems of Ahmet beginning with a mesnevi (ff 43r-45r). The rest of the manuscript is taken up by various works of Mehmet İbn-i Muhyiddin el-nasih fi cami el-Sultan Alauddin, which is likely found in Konya. The first work is a versified sermon in which he gives the name of his spiritual director, Şeyh Ömer. There are some ilahiyat and gazeller insterspersed by mesneviler after this (ff 62v-77r), and then more poems and prayers, including one for the people of Konya (ff 86v-88r) that gives the date of completion of the original work (1029 AH/1619-20 CE). After this, the poems of Muhyiuddin are mixed with gazeller of various poets such as Ahmet, Derviş and Yunus. The manuscript was likely copied in the 18th century CE.
