This volume contains a treatise on chess written in the year 1087 AH (1676-77 CE) by Şeyh Mehmet el-Mevlevi for the entertainment of Arnavut Abdurrahman Abdi Paşa, Vali of Egypt, in his leisure time. The text is divided into a mukaddime, four ebvap subdivided into fusul, and a hatime. In a medallion on f 1r containing the title, the author is called Şeyh Mehmet el-Mevlevi el-Vani. The work appears to be unique and is likely an autograph, copied in 1091 AH (1680-81 CE) at the tekye of Cairo.
