Scope and Content

This volume contains two anonymous French translations of the Tuhfe-yi Şahidi, a versified Persian-Ottoman Turkish dictionary compiled in 920 AH (1514-15 CE) by İbrahim Şahidi :. ff 1v-59r : Traduction littérale du livre intitulé teufé chaidy;. ff 60v-114r : Dictionaire persan expliqué en turc. This work is incomplete, ending at 'une troupe'. The manuscript, which was likely completed in the late 17th century or early 18th century CE, consists of sheets of paper of varying sizes mounted on guards. The manuscript has been foliated as if it were entirely in Arabic script, and thus the first folio of the second text is the last in the manuscript.
