Scope and Content

This volume contains the collected poetry of Murteza (Nazmizade Hüseyin Murteza Efendi, died 1134 AH/1721-22 CE). This copy has lost some folios at the beginning of the text. After the initial verses, the text passes to kasideler (ff 2r-3r) gazeller (ff 3r-8r), na't (ff 8r-11v), tahmisat (ff 11v-12v), chronograms (ff 12v-16r), and then rubaiyat and müfredat (ff 16r-18r). The transcription of the manuscript does not appear to have been complete and some poems have been added in another hand (occasionally diagonally) in the spaces left black at the end. These include three chronograms dated 1118 AH (1706-07 CE), 1122 AH (1710-11 CE), and 1123 AH (1711-12 CE), and poems by Baki and Füzuli. The manuscript likely copied in the 18th century CE.
