This volume contains a listing and description of the 107 manuscripts in the British Library's holdings acquired from Alexandre Jaba (Alexandre August Zaba) by the British Museum in 1872. The manuscripts are divided according to the language of their contents (Turkish, Arabic, or Persian) and then by their subjects. They correspond to the items bearing the shelfmarks Or 1126 to Or 1231 in the current shelfmarking system. The text contains the title of each manuscript in transliteration and in original script, followed by a description of the work in German, Latin, or both. The manuscripts were sold to the British Museum by E. L. Kasprowicz of Leipzig on 12 October 1872, and it is presumably Mr. Kasprowicz who was responsible for the collation of the current document.
