This volume contains an Ottoman Turkish tefsir of the Qur'an made at the request of Sultan Mehmet IV by Halil İbn-i İbrahim, who was born at ᶜaynṭāb (Gaziantep) and educated at Sıvas. Through the influence of the Şeyh-ül-İslam Minkarizade Yahya, he obtained a position in İstanbul in the Sultan's entourage (f 3r). This manuscript has been wrongly lettered 'Tibyān fi ādāb', but the correct title appears on f 302r. The work consists of an author's preface (ff 2v-3r) and two volumes bound in one, the second beginning on f 302v. The text contains three unvans. This manuscript was copied in 1193 AH (1779-80 CE) by Şatırzade Ahmet el-Giridi in the Great Mosque situated in the Citadel at Spinalonga, off the north-eastern coast of Crete.
