This volume contains an Ottoman Turkish translation of Moeurs, usages et costumes de tous les peuples du monde, published by August Wahlen in Brussels in 1844. The translation deals only with the sections on Africa and the Americas. The translator mentions that he has already presented his version of the volume describing the inhabitants of Europe and Asia to the Sultan through the intermediary of Osman Efendi, the Müneccim-i sani. After the section on Africa, he says that he will proceed with the translation of the descriptions of the Americas and Oceania. The manuscript has been illustrated with the original coloured woodcuts by Théophile Emmanuel Duverger engraved by T. S. and taken out of another copy of the work. The illustrations can be found on ff 11v, 44v, 54v, 59v, 62v, 66v, 75v, 81v, 85v, 102v, 116v, 128v, 131v, 134v, and 136v, and all captions from the original work have been effaced. The text contains a single unvan featuring elaborate feathers in gold, blue, green, red and black. The manuscript was copied in 1266 AH (1849-50 CE).
