This Imperial Berat (exequatur) was granted, at the request of the British Ambassador at the Sublime Porte, Sir Thomas Bendish, to William Prideaux, appointed Consul at İzmir in place of Joseph Edwards. At the top of the document is the tuğra of Mehmet IV, richly decorated. The Berat is dated Şeval 1069 AH/July 1959 at İzmit.
