Scope and Content

This volume contains the following three bureaucratic documents :. (I) ff 1v-39v : A manuscript copy of the printed version of Ahkamu'l-meriyet fi arazi'l-emiriye, which is an official inventory of the pasture lands in the Ottoman dominions. The inventory was compiled by Ahmet Arif Hikmet İbn-i İbrahim İsmet el-Hüseyni and, according to the colophon, was printed in İstanbul in 1265 AH (1848-49 CE);. (II) ff 40v-95v : Index to the Hediyetü'l-Kuzzat (ff 40v-42r), followed by two blank pages (ff 42v-43r), a Hadis, and a saying of Ali (f 43v). This is followed by the Hediyetü'l-Kuzzat itself, a legal handbook, of which the author's name, Seyit Halil Niyazi, Second Clerk in the Davutpaşa Mahkemesi in İstanbul, appears on f 44v;. (III) ff 96v-105r : Fetava of Ebüssuud, written for Selim II. The manuscript was copied in the 19th century CE.
