Scope and Content

This volume contains the collected poetry of Nedim (died 1143 AH/1730 CE). Its contents are divided as follows:. ff 1v-26v : Kasideler;. ff 26v-54v : Chronograms, interspersed with more kasideler and miscellaneous poems such as tahmisat, tazminler and elğaz;. ff 54v-79v : Gazeller and şarkılar;. ff 79v-82r : Rubaiyat, including some in Persian (ff 80v-82r);. ff 82r-82v : Kıt'alar, matali' and müfredat;. ff 82v-83r : Arabic poems. On the basis of a mention of a certain Necati (the copyist) in the last line of a mesnevi at the end of the text, the manuscript has been wrongly titled 'Divans of Najati and Nadim', although the work itself does not contain any poems of Necati. The text contains two gold unvans. The manuscript was copied in 1232 AH (1816-17 CE).
