Scope and Content

This volume contains the first volume of the history of the Ottoman Empire by Süleyman İzzi (died 1168 AH/1755 CE) covering the years 1157-1165 AH (1744-1751 CE). On the last folio (f 300v) the author gives the scheme for his history: it was to be in three volumes, the second dealing with the period 1161-65 AH (1747-51 CE) and the third from 1160 AH (1746-47 CE; perhaps an error for 1165 AH?) onward. The text contains a single unvan with floral illumination. This manuscript was copied by Tahirzade Mehmet Sait in 1183 AH (1769-70 CE).
