Scope and Content

This volume contains the collected works, in prose and verse, of Haşmet Efendi (died 1182 AH/1768-69 CE), beginning with the preface of the editor, İmamzade. This is followed by the Taᶜrīfat asmāᵓ al-ḥusnā (ff 5r-7v), Manẓūmat mubārakah (ff 7v-9v), Takhmīs thalīth qaṣīdat munfarijah (ff 9v-12v). All of these are in Arabic and provided with short prose prefaces. They are followed by other tahmisler (the first of which is in Arabic) and kasideler (f 14v). The kasideler come to an end on f 32v and chronograms follow (ff 33v-39r). The next section consists of tahmisat and tesdisat, which continue to f 45v, and the gazeller open on f 46v. These end on f 80v and are followed by elgaz (ff 81v-82r); muammayat (ff 82v-86r); Ebyat-i ebvab-i sultani (ff 85r-86r); İntisab ül-müluk (ff 86v-94v), an account of the poet's dream, including the gazel in honour of the accession of Mustafa III in 1171 AH (1757-58 CE), repeated from f 14v; and Pervazi-yi tahmis-i abd-i fakir. The last work in this copy is the Viladetname-yi hümayun (ff 96v-117v), a description of the festivities on the occasion of the birth of Princess Hibetullah in 1172 AH (1758-59 CE). Although the manuscript is undated, it appears to have been produced in the 18th or 19th century CE.
