Scope and Content

This volume contains an ethical mesnevi by Zarifi (Zarifi Ömer Efendi), who died in 1210 AH (1795-96 CE). This poem is also known as the Pendname. It is divided into various sections (e.g. İctinab-i iltimas-i eşya-yi mergup). On f 41v, another shorter mesnevi by the same author, entitled Risale-yi tasavvufname-yi Zarifi commences. This poem ends on f 44v, with a few lines added to it by the copyist in the same metre. The manuscript was copied by Salih İbn-i Yakup in 1238 AH (1822-23 CE).
