Scope and Content

This volume contains the collected poetical works of İzzet (Kaymakam Ali İzzet Paşa). According to GOD IV, p. 279, he was born in 1103 AH (1691 CE) and died while Serasker in Persia around 1147 AH (1734-35 CE). The first poem in the Divan is in praise of Ahmet III. After this, there are kasideler to İbrahim Paşa and the Kapudanpaşa Mustafa Paşa, and the section ends with two unfinished (natamam) kasideler (f 18v). The chronograms follow (ff 19v-29r) and there is a tercibend (ff 29v-31r) on a verse of Nef'i on the capture of Tabriz and a tahmis followed by other poems of this type (ff 31r-32r). The gazeller begin on f 32v. The last sections consist of mukattaat (ff 65v-72r), lağziyat (ff 72v-74v), a short mesnevi without a title, and a şarkiyat (ff 75r-76v). The Divan is incorrectly attributed to İzzet Molla on the spine of the binding. The text contains five unvans. The manuscript was likely copied in the 19th century CE.
