Scope and Content

This volume contains the following two texts :. (I) ff 1v-52r : Divan of Aczi (died 1292 AH/1875-76 CE), consisting of gazeller. The text was copied in 1282 AH (1865-66 CE);. (II) ff 53v-112v : Şerh-i kaside-i Hamriye by ᶜumar ibn al-Fāriḍ. This text gives translations into Ottoman Turkish verse of the quatrains attached by Jāmī to each verse of the kaside and ends with a series of verses entitled kıt'a and nutka by Sami Sadulla Efendi and İzzet Molla, which are in the nature of a takriz. A few poems have been added on ff 113r-v which bear the title Düstur ya Baz-i Huda. The translator of the work is known to be Abdullah Salah-i Uşşaki, who died in 1196 AH (1781-82 CE). This work is copied in the same hand as text I.
