Scope and Content

This volume contains a translation of the Kashf al-hijāb wa'l-rān ᶜan wajh as'ilat al-jānn(كشف الحجاب والران عن وجه اسئلة الجن) of ᶜabd al-Wahhāb al-Shaᶜrānī, which was written in 955 AH (1548-49 CE) and deals with the questions on points of mysticism and theology asked by the Jinn, alongside replies. The name of the author, Ṣāliḥ, appears on f 6r. The translation was commissioned by İbrahim Efendi, İmam to the Vali of Egypt (for whose name blank spaces have been left) during the reign of Sultan Murat IV. A chronogram gives the date of composition as 1034 AH (1624-25 CE). This manuscript was likely copied in the 18th century CE.
