Scope and Content

This volume contains four mesnevi by Fazıl Bey Enderuni, who is believed to have died either in 1224 AH (1809-10 CE) or in 1225 AH (1810-11 CE). (I) ff 1v-21r : Hubanname, a poem describing the merits and defects of the beautiful boys of various nations;. (II) ff 21v-47r : Zenanname, On the qualities of the women of various countries;. (III) ff 48v-54r : Çenginame, A poem describing the principal public dancing boys of İstanbul, also known as Rakkasname;. (IV) ff 54v-66r : Defter-i Aşık, A poetical account of the poet's love affairs with youth. The manuscript was copied in the 19th century CE.
