Scope and Content

This volume contains a treatise on palmistry with diagrams composed by Nesimi in the reign of Murat III (reigned 1574-95 CE). The text contains seven diagrams of open palms with alchemical (?) symbols drawn on them, and, occasionally, explanatory text, on ff 2v, 3r, 3v, 4r, 4v, 5r, and 10v. There is also a chart of alchemical symbols (?) before the start of the text on f 6v. The text itself begins on f 7r. It was completed on 25 Şaban 1318 AH (18 December 1900 CE). This is followed by a short compilation (ff 22v-24r) on divination in Arabic entitled Ikhtilājāt al-aᶜḍā ᶜalá aqwāl al-sittah (اختلاجات الأعضاء على اقوال الستة) (ff 22r-24r), copied in 1319 AH (1901-02 CE).
