This volume contains a mesnevi on the life of the Prophet Muhammad صلعم composed by İbrahim Hanif Efendi at the age of 40 in 1204 AH (1789-90 CE). The author belonged to the Mevlevi order, his pir's name being Osman Dede (f 8v). He was a contemporary of the poets Neş'et (f 9r) and Galip, who requested that he write this poem. The work is very much influenced by the Mesnevi of Rumi and is in the same metre. On f 6v the name of the reigning Sultan, Selim III, appears, and on f 7r, the poet gives the name of his father as Mehmet Kazım and his mother as Rukiye. Fetin mentions that the poem was written in three volumes, but there are only two in this volume; the second, copied in a different hand, begins on f 113v. On f 226r, however, the poet prays that God will vouchsafe that he may complete the third volume. The first volume was copied by Derviş Ömer, müezzin and ser-zakiran of Aziz Hüdai, in 1209 AH (1794-95 CE). The second volume was copied by Mirza Nabi-yi Buhari in 1260 AH (1844-45 CE).
