Scope and Content

This volume contains a collection of anecdotes about strange happenings in history, all of them collected from various Arabic and Persian sources. The text is dedicated to Sultan Murat IV. The author of the work, Ahmet İbn-i Hemdem Kethuda, known as Süheyli, died in 1038 AH (1628-29 CE) according to Rossi (p. 73), but the OM (III, p. 68) gives no date of death. This manuscript was copied in 1115 AH (1703-04 CE) and contains one unvan.
