This volume contains an account of the life of the Prophet Muhammad صلعم, down to the first Battle of Badr (2 AH/623-24 CE), by Üveys İbn-i Mehmet called Veysi. The author had reached this point in the narrative when he died in 1038 AH (1628 CE). The text shows some staining from running ink on ff 2-61, which affects its legibility on ff 16-20. The colophon of Volume 1 can be found on f 94r and is dated 1086 AH (1675-76 CE). In that of Volume 2 (f 163r), the copyist has given his name, Mehmet İbn-i Mahmud el-Kaztağı, and written 'fi'l-yevm' without giving a date.
