Scope and Content

This volume contains the biographies of the holiest members of the Halveti Sufi order as composed by Mehmet Nazmi Efendi (died 1112 AH/1700-01 CE). This work is Nazmi Efendi's only prose composition. In addition to the usual biographical information found in a silsile, it also provides important insights into the social, political and cultural contexts of the order. This manuscript was likely copied in the early 19th century CE.
