This volume contains copies of official decrees and correspondence from the Defterdar of Basrah between 1135 AH (1172-73 CE) and 1161 AH (1748 CE). The petitions and letters deal with such matters as the regulation of the daily pay of artillerymen, exemptions from taxes, and the affairs of French and British merchants. There are two documents (ff 10v and 11r) about Captain French, dated 1141 AH (1728-29 CE) and 1143 AH (1730-31 CE) respectively.
