Scope and Content

This volume contains the collected poetry of Necati (died 914 AH/1508-09 CE), commencing with a preface in mixed prose and verse (ff 2v-5v) mentioning the reigning sovereign, Bayezit II. In the margin of these folios are several kasideler of Necati. This is followed by a Na't-i şerif, after which come kasideler (ff 5v-24r); as well as miscellaneous poems, some in Persian, many of which have been written in the margins. The regular series of gazeller then begins on f 24r and ends on 75r. Up to f 66v are written in the margin but after this the practice of writing in the margin becomes rather sporadic. A chronology of the reigns of the Ottoman sultans is found at the end of the work (ff 76r-v). The manuscript was likely copied in the 17th century CE.
