Scope and Content

This volume contains the Divan-i Raşit, the collected poetry of the Vak'anevis Mehmet Raşit, who died in 1147 AH (1734-35 CE) (according to Gibb, IV, p. 66) or in 1148 AH (1735-36 CE) (in GO, pp. 268-69 CE). The poems included in the work are as follows:. ff 2v-49r : Kasideler and tahmisat beginning with a na't;. ff 50v-93v : Gazeliyat;. ff 93v-94v : Şarkiyat;. ff 94v-95v : Ebyat;. f 95v : Rubaiyat;. ff 96v-97r : Various kıt'alari beginning with the Arz-i hal-i manzum der Edirne;. ff 97v-110r : Chronograms. There are various notes recording the birth of sons of a previous owner on f 1r and a muhammes by Latifi on f 1v. The earliest date written by one former owner is 1224 AH (1809-10 CE). The text contains a single unvan. The manuscript was likely copied in the late 18th or early 19th centuries CE.
