    • Codex 136 ff Materials : Paper; the first text contains multi-coloured papers in red, green, yellow and off-white. Dimensions : 180 mm x 110 mm. Foliation : European, 136 ff. Ruling : Red-ink text boxes 136 mm x 67 mm in the first text, 160 mm x 68 mm in the second text, with gold-ruled text frames for ff 1v-2r. Script : Nesih. Ink : Black ink with red catchwords. Binding : British Museum binding.

Scope and Content

A collection of two texts :. 1 (1v-32v): Miratü'l-hayr ve ül-haber ve mişkatü'l-nasr ve ül-zafer, an account of the conquest of Ward, on the Danube. Compiled in 1071 AH (1660-61 CE) by an author whose name is not provided. The text is dedicated to Sultan Mehmet IV. An unvan on 1v is decorated with gold leaf and floral patterns in red, blue, orange, pink, green and purple inks. Copied by Ali İbn-i Mahmud el-Erzerumi, likely in the 18th century CE;. 2 (33v-136v): Tarih-i cedid-i Silistre, a history of Silistra and its defence against the Russian siege. The original text was written by Mahmud Sabit and this manuscript was copied by Hakır el-Anam in the month of Rebiülahir 1191 AH (May 1777 CE).
