This volume contains a treatise on the use of the pen, famous calligraphers, instruments, and inks. It was composed for Sultan Murad IV (reigned 1032-49 AH/1623-40 CE; see f 34r) by İbrahim el-Hüseyni el-Kureyşi el-Mukri, also known as Nefiszade. The manuscript was completed in Şeval 1148 AH (February-March 1736 CE) by İsmail İbn-i Hamit el-Hamidi, 'well known for his calligraphy' (el-meşhur bi hüsnü'l-hatt).

- 1 text 54 ff Materials : Beige European laid paper. Foliation : European, 54 ff. Dimensions : 219 mm x 161 mm; text area 157 mm x 82 mm. Rulings: Text boxes with three-lined borders in red and blue inks; column dividers to create two columns of text. Text boxes and column dividers appear to have been added later. Script : Nesih. Ink : Black ink for main text with red and blue inks for text frames. Binding : Original light brown morocco covers with blind-tooled arabesque central medallion and border lines; worn and with part of the front lost.
