Scope and Content

This volume contains the collected poetry of Tifli Ahmet Çelebi who died in 1074 AH (1663-64 CE) according to Safai (Esad Efendi 2549, f 165), where a chronogram for this date is quoted, and 1070 AH (1659-60 CE) in GO III, p. 449, and SO III, p. 252. He was a boon companion of Murat IV. The Divan begins with a Sakiname (ff 2v-6v), followed by na't (ff 7r-11v), kasideler, some of which are in praise of Murat IV and Osman II (ff 11v-38v), kıt'alar (ff 38v-39v), three chronograms (ff 40r-41r), a terkibibent (ff 41r-42v), a kaside (ff 43r-44v), two more chronograms (f 44v), and mukataat (ff 44v-45r). Then follow gazeller (ff 45v-79v), further mukataat (f 80r), and matali. On the end papers are a collection of chronograms, all giving dates in the 17th century CE, with a few gazeller. The manuscript is lacking a date, but was likely copied in the late 17th century or early 18th century.
