Ghazals from elif to vav. The earliest of the extant copies of poems from Hilali-i Rumi is from the late 16th century CE and contains a terminus post quem for this particular poet whose language contains Azeri elements. Some of the poems are in praise of Ali and the Twelve Imams, but the poet does not appear to have been Shi'i. He mentions the Kalenders a great deal, so he may have been from that order. It is possible that the author might have been Hilali Mahmut Çelebi of Karaman, a Persian scholar and poet who died in 980 or 982 AH (1572-73 CE or 1574-75 CE).
