Scope and Content

This codex contains four separate texts as follows:. ff 1v-109v : An Ottoman Turkish translation of the Tutiname made for a Sultan whose name is not mentioned. This recension is identical with the one found in Or 6715 (albeit abridged slightly). It was copied in 1250 AH (1834-35 CE) by Mehmet Necip el-Nayip of Kırklareli;. ff 110r-116v : Hikaye-yi Zenbil, a transcribed piece of oral literature, followed by another example of oral literature entitled Hikaye-yi Hammam-i Nattak;. ff 116v-129r : Edhemiye or Edhem ve Hüma, a mesnevi by Na'ti Efendi (OM II, p. 451), copied by the same hand as the previous works in 1255 AH (1839-40 CE);. ff 154v-158r : Hikaye-yi Uğru ile Kadı, an example of oral literature copied by the same copyist as above.
