Scope and Content

This volume contains a work on the merits of Jihad translated by Baki (died 1008 AH/1599-1600 CE) from the Arabic work entitled Mashāriᶜ al-ashwaq ilá maṣāriᶜ al-ᶜushshaq of Aḥmad bin Ibrāhīm al-Dimashqī. . The item shows evidence of water staining towards the end of the text. . The manuscript is possibly an autograph and is dated 975 AH (1567-68 CE). It is possible, however, that this colophon may have been copied directly from an original manuscript or draft in the author's own hand - perhaps from the copy in the Nuruosmaniye Library. .
