Scope and Content

This volume contains a life of the Prophet Muhammad صلعم, compiled in 779 AH (1377-78 CE) by Mustafa İbn-i Yusuf İbn-i Ömer el-Zarir el-Arzan el-Rumi from the two best biographies of the Prophet صلعم, namely those of Abu'l-Ḥasan al-Bakrī and Ibn Hishām. The translation was written for Sultan Malik el-Tahir Ebü Sait Barkuk İbn-i Enas (f 3r). Zarir inserted many poems in the preface, giving himself the mahlas Gözsüz. This copy consists of three volumes: volume I (ff 1v-133r); volume II (ff 134v-286v); and volume III (ff 287r-406v). The text is imperfect at the end. The manuscript was likely copied in the 15th century CE, but the first nine folios have been supplied by a later hand.
