Scope and Content

This volume contains the collected Ottoman Turkish poetry of Seyit İmadüddin Nesimi (died 820 AH/1417-18 CE). This copy of the Divan opens with two mesneviler, followed by gazeller, not arranged alphabetically (ff 6v-45r). After some rubaiyat (ff 45r-65v) comes another section of gazeller (ff 65v-89r), which includes also one terciibent and the Salavatname; more rubaiyat follow on ff 89r-98v. Finally, some more gazeller (ff 98v-108r) are interspersed with a few poems by Hatai and others. The volume also contains 18 blank but ruled folios. An inscription on f 107v gives the date of the manuscript as 1127 AH (1715 CE).
