This volume contains the collected legal decisions of the 16th century Ottoman legal scholar and theologian Ebussuud Efendi (1490-1574 CE). Ebussuud was elevated to the post of Şeyh-ül-İslâm in 1545 CE under the reign of I. Süleyman, and continued in the role after the Sultan's death, until his own death in 1574 CE. The current copy of the work contains a table of contents listing the various fetava on ff 2v-3v. Additional notes on the contents are found on a fly-leaf. The opening folios contain an introduction in a different hand to the main body of the work, written in Arabic. The top of the manuscript shows considerable evidence of water damage. The work is undated, but was likely copied in the 19th century CE.
