This volume contains a tezkire comprising biographical notices of numerous saints buried in the city of Baghdad. The scope of the present work is roughly comparable to that of Nazmizade Murtaza Efendi's (died 1136 AH/1723 CE [?]) Tezkire-yi Evliya-yi Bağdad (see Add MS 7877). Both works draw on the same sources, which include (as mentioned on 5v) 'Aṭṭār's Tadhkirat al-awliyā, Jāmī's Nafaḥāt al-uns, al-Sha'rānī's Ṭabaqāt, and the Bahjat al-mabāhij (the latter implausibly attributed to 'Abd al-Qādir al-Jīlānī). Each entry begins with 'Zikr-i cemil-i…,' the same formula found in the majority of notices in Nazmizade's Tezkire. Similar wording or extracts of poetry are also used by both authors in a number of notices, for example the verses beginning 'Vâris-i ilm-i Mustafa bude * Salik-i rah-ı mücteba bude,' in the entry on İmam Ebu Hanife. In contrast to Nazmizade, however, the present author largely confines his subjects to Sufi figures and includes figures not found in Nazmizade's Tezkire. Also, where Nazmizade provides short notices for certain figures, the author of the present work elaborates greatly, for example in the case of Muhammed el-Vitri. The present work contains the following notices: 5v, İmam Ali; 9r, İmam Hüseyin ibn-i Ali el-Murtaza; 11r, İmam Ebu Hanife; 15v, İmam Musa bin Cafer es-Sadik; 17v, İmam Muhammed bin Ali bin Musa bin Cafer es-Sadik; 19r, İmam Ali bin Muhammed bin Ali bin Musa bin Cafer es-Sadik; 21v, İmam Hasan bin Muhammed el-Askeri; 22r, İmam Ahmed bin Hanbel; 24v, Hazret-i Habib-i Acemi; 28r, Hazret-i Şeyh Maruf ibn-i Ali; 29r, Ebu Salman Davud bin Nusayr al-Ta'i; 30v, Hazret-i Salman el-Farisi; 34v, İmam Huzeyfe el-Yemani; 35r, İmam Hattab ibn'l-Ers; 35v, İmam Abbas ibn-i Ali ibn-i Abi Talib; 36r, İmam Müslim bin Akil; Hazret-i Harb ibnu'l-Yezid; 36v, Ali ibnu'l-Hüseyin; 37r, Hazret-i Şeyh Sırrı bin el-Müflis al-Sakti; 38r, Hazret-i Şeyh Ebu'l-Hasan el-Nuri; 40r, Hazret-i Şeyh Cüneyd el-Bağdadi; 42r, Hazret-i Hüseyin el-Mansur el-Hallac al-Beyzavi; 45v, Hazret-i Şeyh Ebu Bekir el-Şibli; 46v, Hazret-i Şeyh Bişr bin el-Haris; 47r, Hazret-i Şeyh Muhyiddin Ebu Muhammed Abdulkadir el-Ceylani; 55v, Hazret-i Şeyh Şehabeddin Ebu Hafs Ömer ibn-i Muhammed al-Bekri; 58v, Hazret-i Şeyh Necibeddin Sühreverdi; 60v, Hazret-i Şeyh Muhammed el-Vitri; 62r, Hazret-i Şeyh Muhammed el-Azhari; 62r, Hazret-i Şeyh Tacu'l-Arifin Ebu'l-Vefa; 62v, Hazret-i Şeyh Abi Muhammed Salih el-Mağribi; 63v, Hazret-i Şeyh Nureddin Hvâce; 64r, Hazret-i Şeyh Hammad ed-Dabbas; 64v, Hazret-i Şeyh Muhammed bin Muhammed al-Gazali et-Tusi; 65v, Şeyh Ahmed bin Muhammed el-Kuduri; 66r, Hazret-i Şeyh Ebü'l-Abbas bin Sarih; 66r, Hazret-i Şeyh Muhammed bin Şem'un el-Vaiz; 66r, Hazret-i İmam Muhammed Rumi; 66v, Hazret Ebü'l-Hasan Ali bin İbrahim al-Hadravi; 67r, Hazret-i Ebu Muhammed Abdullah ibn-i Muhammed al-Rasi; 67r, Hazret-i Şeyh Ebu Said el-Kaylevi; 68r, Hazret-i Şeyh Abdurrazzak ibne'ş-Şeyh Abdulkadir el-Ceylani; 68r, Hazret Esved bin Yezid en-Nehaî; 68r, Hazret-i Amir bin Şerhil eş-Şa'bi; 68v, Hazret-i Ebu'l-Abbas Semmak; 68v, Hazret-i Şeyh Behlul-i Dana; 70v, Hazret-i Şeyh Abdullah bin el-Haris; 71v, Hazret-i İmam Ebu Yusuf; 72r, Hazret-i Şeyh Muhammed el-Anabiri; 72r, Hazrete'l-İmameyn İbrahim ve İsmail; 72r, Hazret-i Şeyh Ebu Bekir el-Kutay'i; 72v, Hazret-i Şeyh Ebu Talib Muhammed bin 'Uteyye; 72v, Hazret-i Şeyh Muhammed el-Cevlani; 73r, Hazret-i Şeyh Çakiri; 74r, Hazret-i Şeyh Ali ibnü'l-Heyti; 75r, Şeyh Siraceddin; 75r, Şeyh Abdülaziz; 75r, Şeyh Pir Davud; 75v, Hazret-i İmam Abdullah ibnü'l-Hasan el-Askeri; 75v, İmam es-Seyyid İbrahim; 75v, Şeyh Muhammed el-Arabi; 75v, Hazret-i İmam es-Seyyid İbrahim es-Şehir bi'l-Fazıl; 75v, Hazret Ebü'l-Abbas Ahmed Mesruk; 76r, Hazret-i Şeyh Muhammed el-Akuli; 76v, Şeyh Muhammed el-Ulfi (?); 76v, Hazret-i Seyyid Ali; 76v, Şeyh Muhammed el-Mecnun; 76v, Şeyh Burhaneddin; 77r, Şeyh Mansur bin el-Hasan; 77r, Şeyh Said bin el-Hasan; 77r, Şeyh Muhammed el-Fazıl; 77r, Hazret-i Şeyh Civanmert Kassab; 77v, Hazret-i Şeyh Abdülkerim; 78r, Şeyh Muhammed el-Fazıl; 78r, Şeyh Fahreddin; 78v, Şeyh Nasireddin. There is a small illuminated unvan on f 2v. The line of verse which concludes the text suggests that the author's name was Nasir; the date of completion is difficult to deduce conclusively from the apparent chronogram. It is possible to date the copy to the first half of the 12th century AH/18th century CE.
