Scope and Content

This volume contains the following three mesnevi by Fazıl Bey Enderuni. Hammer places Fazıl Bey's death at 1224 AH (1809-10 CE), while Rieu claims that it occured a year later, in 1225 AH (1810-11 CE). (I) ff 1v-39r : Zenanname, a poem describing the merits and defects of the women of various countries;. (II) ff 39v-47r : Çenginame, a poem describing the principal public dancing boys of İstanbul, also known as the Rakkasname;. (III) ff 47v-79v : Hubanname, a poem describing the qualities of the boys of various countries. This manuscript was likely copied in the 19th century CE.
