This volume contains the following two works:. (I) ff 1v-90v : Menakıbname-yi Şeyh Şaban, an account of the life and virtues of the Halveti Sufi Şeyh Şaban Veli (died at Kastamonu in 1046 AH/1636-37 CE). The author, Ömer Fuadi of Kastamonu (died 1046/1636-37 CE), was the disciple of a Halife of Şeyh Şaban. From the preface to the Türbename (see below; f 98v), we learn that he completed the Menakıbname in 973 AH (1565-66 CE), and on ff 98v-99v an account is given of its contents. The author refers to the work as the Menakıbname, and the heading of the present copy is rather long, but when condensed it reads: Şeyh ... Şaban Efendi ... Hazretlerinin muhtasar menakıbnameleri. That of the other manuscript in the British Library's collections (Or 12245) is similar, although its ending differs from the current text;. (II) ff 91v-128v : Türbename: Another work by Ömer Fuadi, written in response to some persons who opposed the completion of the construction of Şeyh Şaban's türbe at Kastamonu. The author explains the attendant circumstances in his preface, and the reasons for the composition of the Türbename are given on ff 99v-100r. The work proper begins on f 100v. Copies of the Türbename are apparently very rare. The text contains a small unvan with illumination on f 1v. This manuscript is undated, but was likely copied in the early 18th century CE.
