Langdon studied medicine at the Universities of Edinburgh and Manchester. He was house surgeon at St Mary's Hospital Manchester and served as surgeon in the Royal Navy until 1919. Langdon settled in general practice in Altrincham where he was honorary surgeon (later honorary consulting surgeon) to Altrincham Hospital and medical officer to Altrincham Provident Dispensary.
